For the past five years, Tero Väänänen has mainly worked abroad in various explosive detection dog projects. Tasks have also included training other search, search and rescue, and patrol dogs. Assignments have also included the training of handlers, the practical management of projects, the development of training, internal quality control, and the testing of dogs in connection with procurement.
Tero has been in Finland for the past year and has done educational cooperation with dog enthusiasts in various sports. Tero currently has two malinois of his own in training.
Previously, Tero worked at the Finnish Border Guard as a dog handler for about 25 years and at the Border and Coast Guard School as a dog instructor for about 10 years. Tero was certified as an instructor by the EU Border and Coast Guard Agency Frontex K9 Team in 2014.
Over the years, Tero has gained a lot of experience in training hundreds of dogs for work and hobby, both at home and abroad.
